![]() I'd estimate maybe ten-ish pages would do for a five-minute short, perhaps more if it's dialogue heavy? Most scripts I've read for 11-minute cartoons clock in at about seventeen pages, which is the closest thing I've found to fully produced short scripts. I haven't had a look at many scripts for shorts, but when I do read scripts for un-produced shorts, seven or eight pages often feels more like two or three minutes to me. ![]() Most TV scripts I read clock it at around forty to fifty-five pages for 22-minutes, or one-hundred and ten to one-hundred and forty pages for a feature. I read a lot of TV and feature scripts, and generally, I find the page-a-minute rule doesn't really apply, especially if the scripts are dialogue heavy. In terms of a five-minutes short, how long should a script generally be, especially if it's dialogue heavy? Normally I wouldn't worry, but I am condensing a feature script I wrote for fun into a five-minute short as part of a contest. I try to keep my stuff professional though, in terms of formatting and stuff, so I had a question. I submit stuff here and there, but I mainly just do it for fun.
